Catching Up #019
Wow, I did not mean to take a month-long break, but it happened! I guess life got in the way? I got busy? But at the same time, I don't feel like I was busy at all. But here I am.
As I'm writing this, it's 12:41am on a Friday night, I'm listening to a coffeehouse playlist, Jude is snoring a tiny kitten snore, and Jay is making me iced water. Our little family and life together is so great. It's tough at times, don't get me wrong. We argue and we don't see eye-to-eye sometimes, but we love each other so, so much and can't stay mad for long, we always talk things out, apologize, love, build each other up, make each other smile and laugh. He's everything I need, always.
Work is great, I feel like I'm a part of the family there and that's a great feeling. I'm Employee of the Month, I recently got more responsibilities as their social media specialist (on top of my normal web marketing manager duties), and I love every bit of it. I was swamped with work this past week, but I enjoyed myself so much. Every day I walk into work and leave with a smile, because I get to call my passion my "job."
I think we're getting closer to finally going back to Hawaii to visit home and I'll get to see my family again for the first time in two years. We've been trying to save up for a trip back, but just when we finally seem to be getting somewhere with our savings, something unexpected comes up. First it was that we needed to see the eye doctor, I got sick, we needed new pants for work, our car needed servicing, friends came to visit and we wanted to do something fun, our fridge broke and all our groceries spoiled, yadda yadda yadda.
And now, our second anniversary is coming up and we want to go on a little weekend getaway, but should we skip it and save for Hawaii instead? Or should we treat ourselves for our hard work and all the ups and downs we've experienced in the past couple of months? It's hard to decide.
One of the biggest highlights: Jay graduated! A few weeks ago, we went to his movie premiere and it was fantastic! It's a documentary on Woodstock and the possibility of a Woodstock 2019, check it out here!
Lastly, for the last few months I've been very irregular (like, 45 day cycles, irregular). So I finally made an appointment to get checked out, and I got bloodwork done to get tested for PCOS. It runs in my family, so there's a chance I could have it. I just want to be sure. I should be finding out next week, I hope! Fingers crossed, I'm okay!
Thank you for always being here and spreading love in the comments, I appreciate it and love reading them! I hope you all have a great week.
